Our client, an Am Law 50 firm, is seeking an experienced Real Estate Paralegal to join their nationally recognized Real Estate Practice Group in Atlanta, Chicago, or St. Louis. This team closes complex, high-profile transactions across all major asset classes, and the selected candidate will play a critical role supporting attorneys and clients throughout all phases of sophisticated real estate deals.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct and coordinate comprehensive due diligence, including reviewing title commitments, surveys, zoning reports, and underlying documents to identify and resolve issues.
- Draft, revise, and assemble real estate conveyance and financing documents.
- Drive the closing process for acquisitions, dispositions, and debt / equity financings, managing signature packages, tracking deliverables, ensuring recording requirements, and preparing closing books.
- Prepare, file, and track UCC financing statements; order and analyze lien, litigation, and related searches to ensure a clear title.
- Handle special projects requiring legal research, reporting, and creative problem-solving.
- Serve as a liaison among attorneys, clients, title companies, surveyors, opposing counsel, and government agencies to keep transactions on schedule.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (or associate's degree plus a paralegal certificate).5 to 7 years of commercial real estate experience in a law firm, in-house legal department, or title company.Expertise in title and survey review; prior exposure to large, complex transactions strongly preferred.Superior organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.Strong written and verbal communication abilities.Proven client service orientation with discretion in handling sensitive matters.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, PDF creation tools, document management systems, and timekeeping software.Initiative, curiosity, and a passion for real estate law.
