PRN Advanced Practice Provider Critical Care - ( 250008B4 )

Description

Seeking an experienced PRN Advanced Practice Provider to join the ICU Team at UH St. John's Medical Center. This position provides PRN coverage for 12-hour rotating shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Nurse practitioners must be ACNP-certified.

A Brief Overview

The Advanced Practice Provider is responsible for delivering quality care, increasing patient access and satisfaction, and performing tasks as specified by the Ohio State Board of Medicine or Nursing and UH entity-specific Medical Bylaws.

What You Will Do

  • Initiate and maintain positive relationships with patients and customers
  • Initiate and maintain positive relationships with co-workers
  • Take responsibility for self-development and support a learning environment
  • Display commitment to the hospital's mission and values
  • Perform patient assessments and establish diagnoses based on assessment data and current research
  • Establish care plans and implement interventions according to care pathways, protocols, and standards of care
  • Collaborate with other healthcare providers in an interdisciplinary approach
  • Contribute to the educational development of staff, patients, families, and self
  • Demonstrate leadership and effective management skills
  • Provide education through role modeling and in-services to meet learning needs and promote professionalism
  • Advance professional development through self-directed learning, continuing education, and peer review participation

Additional Responsibilities

  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Comply with all policies and standards
  • Refer to departmental documentation during orientation for specific duties
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of Protected Health Information (PHI), with annual training and adherence to UH policies

    • Qualifications

    Education

  • Master's Degree from an accredited PA program (Required)
  • Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) (Required)

    • Work Experience

  • At least 1 year as an Advanced Practice Provider (Preferred)

    • Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Demonstrated leadership skills (Required proficiency)
  • Strong interpersonal skills (Required proficiency)
  • Computer skills for accessing patient data (Required proficiency)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook (Required)

    • Licenses and Certifications

  • Physician Assistant (PA) (Required)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (Preferred)
  • Passed the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination (Required)
  • Practice under supervision of a physician (Required upon hire)
  • Maintain national PA certification (Required)
  • Ohio and / or Multi-State Compact Registered Nurse (RN) license (Required)
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) (Required)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (Required)
