Bachelor's or Master's degree in School Psychology, active School Psychologist license and minimum 1+ years School Psychologist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for a School Psychologist to support K-12 students in a school setting located in Freeport, IL. This position is a contract role for the upcoming school year, offering a chance to contribute to the educational success and well-being of diverse learners.
Key Responsibilities :
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assist the IEP team in determining student eligibility for special services and resources.
- Select and administer appropriate assessment tools based on referral concerns to address individual student needs.
- Analyze and interpret evaluation results, writing clear and meaningful reports for IEP eligibility conferences.
- Evaluate student compatibility with their instructional environment, considering learning style, teaching methods, available resources, and peer interactions.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, administrators, and the School Social Worker to develop effective interventions for academic and behavioral challenges within formal support systems such as Student Assistance Teams.
- Participate actively in district-wide Response to Intervention (RtI) teams.
- Meet with parents prior to IEP meetings to discuss and review assessment findings.
Qualifications :
Valid certification or licensure as a School Psychologist.Experience working with K-12 populations in a school setting.Strong skills in psychoeducational assessment and eligibility determination.Ability to collaborate effectively with educational teams, families, and related professionals.Knowledge of RtI processes and special education laws.Excellent communication and report-writing skills.This contract role provides a rewarding environment to make a meaningful impact on student success through assessment, consultation, and collaboration.
