Overview
Pioneer New England Legal Foundation is seeking a highly talented Paralegal / Legal Assistant to support our fast-paced public interest law practice. The ideal candidate will bring strong knowledge of the litigation process in state and federal court and the ability to provide administrative support to the lifecycle of the case.
Responsibilities
- Document management : prepare and distribute discovery and subpoena responses to courts, opposing counsel, experts and clients. Scan, upload and distribute case documents. Coordinate hand-deliveries and e-file with courts.
- Maintain attorney\'s calendar by planning and scheduling conferences with clients, opposing counsel and experts. Schedule depositions, court dates, conciliations and settlement conferences, and monitor and respond to emails.
- Assist with trial preparation by organizing documents, preparing exhibits, and scheduling witnesses.
- Frequent client contact to initiate client intakes, run conflicts, schedule court hearings and conciliation preparation; provide clients with updates and responses to inquiries.
Qualifications
4+ years of experience as a legal assistant / paralegal; ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment; strong organizational and multitasking skills; excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of document management and workflow.Position Details
