SUMMARY :
The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with senior HR management in building, implementing and delivering all Human Resources operations, including processes and services that create, support, and sustain a high performance and innovative culture. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas : benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, on-boarding, policy implementation, affirmative action and employment law assistance to employees, supervisors and management in a variety of human resources related issues.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY :
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities, but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department.
WORK ENVIRONMENT :
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary .
TRAVEL :
Little or no travel is expected for this position.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
A bachelor's degree and 5-10 years' human resource experience, or a master's degree in human resource management and 5 years' experience in the HR field, or seven years of experience in the HR field, or any similar combination of education and experience.
ADDITIONAL ELEGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS :
The ability to utilize sound judgment, discretion and maintain confidentiality
Knowledge and ability to apply federal and state legislation as it relates to employment and recruitment matters.
Experience handling employee relations issues Excellent organization and prioritization skills
Demonstrated ability to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities
Strong customer service orientation
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including, Word, Power Point and Excel
Excellent presentation skills for employee training
Basic math skills for attendance / payroll preparation
PHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification.
Pay Range : $68,640-$90,000 / year
