Position Overview
The Sales Manager - Northeast will be responsible for leading and executing commercial strategy and managing key accounts across the Northeast region of the US, including all Ahold Delhaize banners, C&S, Wakefern, Wegmans, Market Basket, and Big Y. This individual will manage a portfolio of key retailers, distributors, and broker partners to drive profitable growth. They will own account-level strategy and execution while collaborating cross-functionally to deliver against aggressive growth targets in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Strategy & Execution
- Build and execute annual plans for key accounts leveraging sales fundamentals – distribution, pricing, shelving, and merchandising principles – as well as trade, shopper marketing, and national marketing activations to drive sustainable, joint value for both NICKS and key retailers.
- Develop and deliver compelling, data-backed customer presentations that influence buyer decisions and enhance partnerships
- Build and nurture relationships with retail partners through frequent in-person meetings and trade events, as well as through consistent proactivity, diligence, responsiveness, and attention to detail
- Seek out strategic business development opportunities, particularly within the northeast region
Account Performance & P&L Management
Manage all volume forecasting and promotional planning for assigned accounts across all NICK’S categoriesMaximize trade and shopper marketing ROI by evaluating and optimizing the performance of all working and non-working dollarsOwn trade budget management and deduction accuracy in partnership with Finance and Accounts Receivable teamsBroker & Distributor Management
Set clear goals and deploy business priorities with regional broker partnersPartner across broker levels to ensure alignment, accountability, and timely follow-ups on key initiativesTrack performance against goals and support brokers and distributors in unlocking new points of distributionRetail Execution
Perform regular in-store visits to evaluate compliance, placement, promotion execution, and merchandisingIdentify and act on opportunities to improve shelf presence, secondary display visibility, and category supportPartner with brokers and field teams to close voids, optimize facings, and support new item cut-insCross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Marketing, Finance, Operations, and Commercial teams to ensure alignment on account needs, forecasts, and field executionProvide internal teams with customer insights and market feedback to support product innovation, supply planning, and promotional planningLeadership & Culture

Bachelor’s degree required5+ years of experience in sales roles within a high-growth CPG company, preferably in food or beverageBased in the Northeast with strong understanding of retail dynamics in the regionDemonstrated experience managing sales brokers and distributor relationshipsProven success managing customer P&Ls, forecasting, and trade spend optimizationExcellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skillsProficient in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides) as well as MS Excel & PowerPointComprehensive understanding and experience using syndicated data platforms (e.g., IRI, SPINS) to identify insights and influence decision-makingAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and entrepreneurial environmentWillingness to travel up to 40% across the regionN!CK'S is proud to be an Equal Opportunity employer.
