Job Description
Build precision. Shape performance.
Join our network of manufacturing partners across St. Louis City, St. Louis County, and Jefferson County, MO as a full-time Precision CNC Setup Machinist. Put your expertise with Toyota, Mazak, Mazatrol, Hardinge, and Fanuc G-code to work in clean, well-equipped, safety-first shops earning $23–$30 / hr.
A day in your role
You arrive to a spotless cell, review the traveler, and dive into setup. You verify tooling, dial in offsets, and load the program. As the first part comes off a lathe, mill, or grinder, you mic it, gauge it, and confirm you’re holding + / - 0.001 or tighter. You tweak feeds, adjust wear offsets, and chase repeatability. Throughout the shift, you keep production moving, collaborate with your teammates, and document results—always with quality at the forefront.
What you’ll handle
- Set up and run CNC lathes, vertical / horizontal mills, and grinders to produce precision parts within + / - 0.001 or smaller.
- Read and apply blueprints and schematics; load, edit, and prove out G-code and Mazatrol programs.
- Perform tool changes, set and adjust machine / work offsets, and verify dimensions using calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Troubleshoot issues proactively and optimize for accuracy, repeatability, and throughput.
- Partner with peers and supervisors to hit production goals and drive continuous improvement.
- Document production activity and inspections to maintain full traceability.
- Keep your area organized and safe—every part, every time.
