The RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the nursing care of the patients.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE : Currently licensed RN in the state of Illinois by the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation. Current CPR, PALS and CPI certification is required. Current ACLS certification preferred.
JOB KNOWLEDGE : Is knowledgeable regarding policies and procedures, PPE's, universal precautions, duties during a disaster, and product safety information, all on-line / computer based learning. The patient population must be considered when assessing job knowledge required by the employee.
ABILITIES, INTERESTS AND TEMPERAMENTS :
Verbal ability is needed to interpret and understand instructions and to communicate with other caregivers.
The RN will successfully complete orientation and hospital-wide and department-specific CBL's (computerized based learning). The RN will participate in departmental in-services and will demonstrate competency by completing the service specific competency testing / evaluation process, as appropriate to the RN role. Continuing education programs will be offered to augment the RN's knowledge of pertinent developments in patient care and to foster a performance improvement environment.
