The Electrical Design Engineer functions in a mid-level engineering capacity performs all aspects of conventional and nuclear design engineering. The engineer in this position must have an aptitude for practical engineering, a willingness to immerse oneself in the position and rapidly learn the business, ability to work with little supervision, have strong leadership skills, and be willing to travel periodically.

Location

This position is located in Lenexa, KS, or Oak Ridge, TN.

Responsibilities

• Power System Studies : Conduct and review detailed AC / DC calculations using ETAP, including short circuit, voltage drop, arc-flash, motor starting, and relay coordination.
• Procurement & Vendor Support :
• Develop and review equipment specifications.
• Participate in bid evaluations and manage vendor Q&A tracking.
• Design Development :
• Prepare scoping documents and perform constructability reviews.
• Design and review lighting, communications, and security systems.
• Collaboration & Client Interface :
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Engage with clients and implementation personnel.
• Travel : Visit client / vendor offices and plant sites for design reviews and construction coordination.

Qualifications

Other Requirements :

Base Compensation : $123,000 / yr - $129,000 / yr

(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and / or location)
