RN Position Job Notes :

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details :

• Work 12-hour shifts with every other weekend requirement
• Manage patient ratios of 5-7 patients per nurse
• 35-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit on Main 4E
• May be floated to other Medical Surgical departments
• Med / Surg or PCU experience required
• BLS certification and VA nursing license required
• Rehabilitation experience preferred
• Perform medication administration including IVs, PICC lines, and PEG tube administration
• Conduct bladder scans, tracheostomy care, tube feeding, Foley catheter care, and bladder irrigation
• Administer blood products as needed
• Work with equipment including vitals machines, Baxter IV pumps, SCDs, and bladder scanners
• Use Meditech documentation system
• Navy blue or white solid scrubs required
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary team including Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Physiatrist, Physician Assistant, and Neuropsychologist
• Focus on patient functional improvements and achieving goals for functional independence
