Logistician
SMS is seeking an experienced Logistician to join our team providing receiving, warehousing, inventory control, order fulfillment, and shipping for the Army Integrated Fires Rapid Capabilities Office (IFRCO) logistics support at Redstone Arsenal. Responsibilities
- Purchases, receives, and inventories hardware and equipment required to accomplish non-standard equipment prototypes, fabrications, modifications, and repairs to IFRCO equipment and meet Product Directorate (PD) IFRCO mission requirements.
- Performs logistics services and warehouse management operations that include receiving, shipping, packaging for transportation, inventorying, disposal, hazardous material certification and handling at Government Leased or Owned Facilities in CONUS PD IFRCO locations.
- Will provide warehouse / logistics support to the Integrated Fires / Office Distribution Center, including but not limited to the following :
- Plan, organize, and support day-to-day operations
- Coordinate equipment / parts accounting, materials processing, storage, and repair / return activities
- Schedule, coordinate, and monitor shipments of equipment to / from CONUS and OCONUS locations
- Operate supply accountability systems, upload inventory information to IUID registers, and utilize RFID technologies
- Perform planning for and assist in the loading and offloading of equipment onto various modes of transport
- Work will be performed in places such as warehouse facilities, airfields, test sites, equipment storage yards, and office facilities. At times work may be performed in inclement weather conditions.
- Use hand and power tools to open / remove crate materials, and to build or assemble crates, skids, or other packaging.
- Operate forklifts, telehandlers, and trucks of various capacities.

Bachelor's degree (Preferred) or equivalent combination of education and experienceDriver's LicenseMinimum of 5 years' experience in a warehouse settingSECRET ClearanceAbility to work and perform tasks as part of a team, including two person lifts and carries of materialsPhysical ability to perform activities such as climbing up / down ladders and stairs, walking on uneven or obstacle filled terrain, standing, bending, and lifting / carrying equipment (up to 50 lbs.) for the duration of a typical workday.Knowledge of shipping and warehouse management practicesDesired Abilities
