Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to support project teams through the design and preconstruction phases. This role is responsible for analyzing drawings and specifications, developing accurate cost estimates, coordinating subcontractor and vendor pricing, and supporting value engineering to keep projects aligned with budget goals. The Construction Estimator will play a critical role in bridging design with execution, ensuring projects are set up for long-term success.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and comprehend construction documents, drawings, and specifications.
• Perform detailed quantity take-offs and price quantities from data to compile accurate estimates.
• Develop cost estimates across all design stages : conceptual, schematic, design development, and construction documents.
• Reconcile current budget estimates with previous versions to ensure accuracy.
• Maintain historical cost data for use in future projects.
• Process and follow up on RFIs.
• Understand and contribute to preliminary project logistics plans and schedules.
• Develop trade-specific scopes of work based on drawings, design meetings, and construction knowledge.
• Participate in bidding and buy-out processes.
• Support value engineering efforts to keep projects aligned with established budgets.
• Work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and project teams to phase assigned projects.
• Solicit and analyze pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
• Attend design development meetings and provide input to align design intent with cost goals.
• Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with contractors, suppliers, and clients.
• Foster ongoing, professional communication with clients throughout the estimating process.
