Job Summary
The Construction Manager leads Buffalo Restoration's Reconstruction Department, providing strategic direction and day-to-day operational oversight for a team of project managers, junior project staff, and an in-house group of carpentry and flooring laborers. This role ensures the department remains fully staffed and trained, drives a healthy sales and work-in-progress (WIP) pipeline, and delivers projects profitably and on schedule.
Acting as both a strategic leader and a hands-on manager, the Construction Manager develops processes, coaches team members, and fosters collaboration across departments while upholding Buffalo Restoration's core values of Integrity, Teamwork, Compassion, and Excellence.
Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Expectations

- Management – Make daily operational and strategic decisions that keep the department staffed, trained, and financially healthy. Maintain a strong sales and work-in-progress pipeline while meeting revenue, budget, and quality targets.
- Conflict Resolution – Address vendor, inter-department, and personnel issues promptly and constructively, using respectful communication and fair, documented processes to achieve positive outcomes.
Specific Responsibilities include :
Team management :Coordinate teamworkCoordinate, mentor / coach, and evaluate reconstruction staff, including project managers and the in-house carpenter / flooring labor pool.Facilitate team meetingsMaintain accurate personnel and training records.Recruit, schedule, and cross-train staff to meet seasonal and project demands.Department management :Monitor change orders & supplements for this department
Assist with departmental collections issuesDevelop annual budgets for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.track and report on KPIs such as gross margin, job cost variance, and backlog.
Forecast pipeline needs and align staffing to projected revenue.Oversee hiring, onboarding, and performance management of project managers, Jr. Project Managers, and in-house trade labor.Collaborate with HR on wage reviews, incentives, and workforce development plans.Project management :Set expectations for departmental workflow, quality, and customer communication
Manage response to customer complaints and requestsApprove change orders and supplements; ensure documentation accuracyCommunicate with estimators, supervisors and foremen regarding projects pre and post contractLead resolution of workmanship or warranty disputes, balancing customer satisfaction with cost control.Address hazards immediately and champion a safety-first culture.Responsibilities may be amended, added or deleted as neededSupervisory Duties (if applicable)
Directly supervise project managers and the in-house carpenter / flooring crew leads; indirectly oversee field technicians and subcontractors.
