OBJECTIVE AND POSITION SUMMARY
The Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) Specialist will assist in a large-scale project to clean up and ensure the ongoing integrity of data within the agency’s ADP HRIS system, prioritizing this initiative to establish a reliable foundation for HR processes. The HRIS Specialist will work closely with the HR and Payroll Department to develop and maintain policies and processes required for a functional HRIS system. They will support and maintain the agency’s HRIS applications and modules to ensure systems meet and evolve based on agency needs. The HRIS Specialist will be the point of escalation for the HRIS and will act as the subject matter expert in relation to it, providing support in its development and implementation, process improvement, and special projects.
SPECIALIZATIONS
A wide degree of adaptability, knowledge, and strategic thought combined with a roll-your-sleeves-up approach is required to meet the challenges faced by this position. Extensive experience with various HRIS is necessary to successfully complete the primary functions of this role.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assists the clean up and validation of data within the ADP HRIS system, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and completeness, and implements processes to maintain ongoing data integrity as the top priority for the role.
- Oversees and maintains optimal function of the HRIS, which may include installation, customization, development, maintenance, and upgrade to applications, systems, and modules.
- Provides technical support, troubleshooting, and guidance to HRIS users.
- Collaborates with executive leadership and HR staff to identify system improvements and enhancements; recommends and implements solutions.
- Manages permissions, access, personalization, and similar system operations and settings for HRIS users.
- Programs custom functions and documentation such as automated queries, filters, macros, and assists with reports.
- Develops and implements HRIS automations and workflows to support internal process efficiencies and end user functionality.
- Serves as lead representative and liaison between HR, information services, external vendors, and other stakeholders for HRIS design and implementation projects.
- Oversees HRIS support staff, scheduling, assignments, duties, and performance.
- Ensures system compliance with data security and privacy requirements.
- Maintains knowledge of trends and developments in HRIS providers, vendors, and technology.
- Ensures compliance with all legal and regulatory compliance agencies as it relates to labor, wage and hour, and employment laws.
- Oversees training to increase employee, practitioner, and manager capabilities, growth, and adoption of HRIS automations.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, and regulatory changes in human resources and employment law.
- Partners with internal staff to ensure data integrity of HRIS.
- Works closely with internal team members to ensure that all proper documentation is captured during onboarding, stored in electronic HR files, and accessible for audits and reporting, as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
Education / Background :
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field required.Minimum of five years’ of directly related experience as an HRIS Analyst or HRIS Specialist working in ADP.Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered to meet the qualifications of this position.Preferred candidate will hold a SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or Professional in Human Resources (PHR) credential or the ability to obtain certification within one year of employment.PIb28fea162d6e-30511-37692339
