Procurement Contract Negotiator
We are seeking a new Procurement Contract Negotiator to join our team at Ardmore Roderick. As a Procurement Contract Negotiator, you join a team of infrastructure solutions experts working to solve our client's ever evolving project needs. This opportunity will be located at a client location in downtown Chicago and could have the potential to be hybrid depending on the specific client, project and team needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Participates in market research, best practices investigations, and industry trends analyses for specific procurement and contracting efforts
- Solicits and reviews vendor performance information, reviews using department compliance with specific strategic contracts and spend patterns to make recommendations for the development of future procurement strategy
- Assists with the planning and coordination of major procurement events
- Performs specialized and standard procurements
- Leads the evaluation of proposals of competitive solicitations or other procurements and participates in contract negotiations for professional services or strategic sourcing events
- Provides guidance and consultation regarding procurement and contractual matters and ensures adherence to county procurement ordinance and regulations
- Serves as a liaison with contractors, department / units, executive management, and other agencies for contract negotiations, agreements, and procurement activities
- Participates in special projects related to the county's procurement strategic goals and initiatives by serving as a subject matter expert on specific procurements
- Participates in training and presentations on procurement and contracting topics to internal and external audiences
- Prepares routine reports, correspondence, and documents to be presented to senior management
- Serves on County committees and performs other duties and responsibilities appropriate for a Contract Negotiator
- Completes data entry, develops solicitations, reviews and processes contract related information using various systems / applications including Oracle EBS system
Required Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited college or university with an associate's degreeFive years of full-time work experience in procurement / purchasing within the past eight yearsOR-Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degreeThree years of full-time work experience in procurement / purchasing within the past eight yearsStrong knowledge of contract development, negotiation principles and practices as well as the legal aspects of procurement contractsKnowledge of federal, state, and county procurement laws / regulations and proceduresGeneral knowledge of strategic sourcing and coordination of multi-agency procurementsExcellent oral and written communication skills as well as strong customer service, organizational, and analytical skills with attention to detailAbility to compile and review vendor performance informationSkill in reviewing department compliance and spend patterns and make recommendations for the development of future procurement strategyAbility to prepare competitive solicitations and contracts and monitor market trendsAbility to plan and coordinate pre-proposal / bid meetings and related procurement activities and assist in market research and best practices investigationsAbility to assist with the development of presentations and workshops regarding procurement / contracting topicsProficiency in Microsoft OfficeHave a team player mindset with the ability to communicate proficiently in written and verbal formsHave good to great organizational skillsPreferred Qualifications
One year of full-time work experience in contract processing, negotiation, or strategic sourcingExperience utilizing Oracle Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe AcrobatCurrent Certification in Public Procurement, Certified Public Purchasing Officer (CPPO), or Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB)Benefits

Salary Range : $93,600-101,920, Ardmore Roderick is providing the compensation range that the company believes it might pay and / or offer for this position, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
