VP, Software Engineering
PRIMARY FUNCTION
Own the engineering strategy and execution for the Pediatric Associates Family of Companies (PAFC). Build an AIfirst, healthcaregrade software organization that ships secure, scalable products for patients, parents, clinicians, and operations. Reduce vendor dependency, accelerate delivery, and integrate tightly with PAFC’s EHR(s), contact center, population health, and data platforms.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Build and lead a software engineering team with high bar hiring and mentorship.
- Partner with Product, Operations, and Clinical to define measurable outcomes (access, quality, cost, experience).
- Annual planning, portfolio management, and outcome based roadmaps aligned to PAFC growth and margin targets.
- Act as a hands-on leader, capable of coding, reviewing, and mentoring.
- Instrument product analytics, drive A / B tests and funnel optimization for patient and clinician journeys.
- Establish staffing mix (onshore / offshore / nearshore) and partner strategy, negotiate MSAs / SOWs with clear SLAs.
- Ship AI / agentic services (LLMs, RAG, tool calling ) for contact center, RCM, care ops, and patient experiences.
- Optimize total cost of AI, including, model selection inference gateways, caching, and workload placement.
- Define platform architecture (microservices, event streaming, APIs, containers, IaC).
- Implement CI / CD with automated testing (unit / integration / contract), quality gates, and progressive delivery.
- Orchestrate EHR integration and migration (patient portal, scheduling, charting, orders, labs, imaging, eRx, CCD / CCD A).
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION : Bachelors degree required, master’s degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE :
A minimum of 10 years of professional experience required.15+ years in software engineering; 8+ years leading multi team orgs (50–200 engineers) in regulated domains required.Proven delivery of AI enabled products in production (LLMs, agents, NLP, predictive models) with measurable ROI required.Deep healthcare experience : EHR / EPM, RCM, contact center ops, familiarity with eligibility / referrals / prior auth flows required.EHR migration / optimization leadership, Innovaccer or similar population health & data unification platforms performed.Experience with contact center tech (CCaaS, conversational AI) and healthcare document automation (fax / RPA to API) performed.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Cloud architecture at scale (AWS / Azure / GCP), event driven systems, API gateways.SDLC excellence : trunk based development, test automation, infra as code, SRE.Security / compliance : HIPAA, privacy by design .Executive communication, vendor negotiation, budgeting and portfolio governance.TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
