Lead Technical Designer

We are looking for a

Lead Technical Designer

to join our team of best-in-class designers, architects, and project administrators. This role is a hybrid of technical artistry and project clarity-responsible for transforming our creative vision into sophisticated, fully detailed, and buildable documentation. You will play a major role in shaping our ultra-high-end residential projects by creating exceptional drawing sets, supporting design administration, and helping bridge the gap between concept, documentation, and construction.

About the Role

As our Lead Technical Designer, you'll be responsible for :

Working Drawings & Documentation

Developing detailed, accurate, and aesthetically clear working drawings for both interior design and architectural detailing, including custom millwork, cabinetry, built-ins, finish transitions, ceiling and lighting plans.

Producing and refining drawing sets that balance technical rigor with design intent and visual clarity.

Contributing to construction documentation packages with both beauty and constructibility in mind.

Shop Drawing Review & Coordination

Reviewing and redlining shop drawings for cabinetry, windows and doors, millwork, and other custom elements.

Coordinating with vendors, trades, and contractors to ensure design fidelity and technical feasibility.

Identifying potential issues and proposing creative, functional solutions.

Project Administration Support

Supporting our Senior Design Administrator in managing project workflows, documentation coordination, and RFI responses.

Helping track drawing deliverables, client and vendor correspondence, and project milestones.

Assisting in technical communication with consultants, contractors, and trades.

Technical Communication

Translating design vision into clear, communicative drawings and written documentation for seamless construction execution.

Responding to RFIs and field questions in collaboration with our senior team, maintaining clarity and responsiveness throughout.

Process Oversight & Permit Knowledge (Bonus)

Bonus : Experience in the architectural project management process-coordinating working and construction document production, managing timelines, and supporting architectural permit and approval submissions.

Understanding of relevant codes, approvals, and workflows that impact high-end residential construction.

You're a Fit If You Are :

Detail-Obsessed & Design-Savvy - You bring an exceptional eye for detail and layout, understanding how to clearly and beautifully communicate design intent through drawings.

Technically Fluent - You're highly proficient in SketchUp and SketchUp Layout, with light AutoCAD capability, and strong command of Microsoft Office for tracking and coordination.

Self-Motivated & Highly Driven - You take initiative, work independently, and bring a sense of ownership to everything you touch.

Collaborative & Communicative - You work well with others, take direction, offer insights, and have experience communicating with architects, trades, and consultants.

Experienced & Grounded - You've worked in the high-end residential design space and understand the stakes, the standards, and the pace.

Bonus Qualifications :

Background in architecture, interior architecture, or technical design for luxury residential projects.

Experience with permit set production and city / county submittals.

Familiarity with material specs, finish schedules, and interior construction coordination.
