The Commercial Banking Product Leader, Vertical Markets is responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing commercial banking products and strategies for specific industry verticals. This role combines deep commercial lending expertise, deposit needs with strategic market analysis to create tailored financial solutions that address the unique challenges and opportunities within targeted industry segments.
About This Role
Product Strategy & Development
- Design and develop commercial deposits, lending and treasury products tailored to specific vertical markets (e.g., healthcare, agriculture, manufacturing, technology)
- Create comprehensive go-to-market strategies for new and enhanced product offerings
- Oversee a portfolio of products and manage them through the product lifecycle
- Establish product roadmaps aligned with business objectives and market opportunities
- Collaborate with credit policy and risk management to establish appropriate lending parameters for each vertical
Market Analysis
Conduct thorough research and analysis of industry verticals to identify trends, challenges, and opportunitiesEvaluate competitive offerings and maintain market intelligence on industry-specific banking solutionsDevelop business cases to support new product initiatives with clear ROI projectionsMonitor economic factors affecting targeted industries and adjust strategies accordinglyVendor & Relationship Management
Own and manage key vendor relationships in support of product relationshipsPartner with relationship managers to understand client needs within specific verticalsProvide subject matter expertise to support complex commercial lending opportunitiesDevelop educational materials for relationship teams on vertical-specific productsFacilitate solution-focused discussions with key clients and prospectsPerformance Management
Track and analyze product performance metrics within assigned verticalsIdentify opportunities for product enhancements based on performance dataDevelop and monitor KPIs for vertical market penetration and growthCreate regular performance reports for executive leadershipCross-Functional Leadership
Collaborate with marketing teams to develop targeted campaigns for vertical marketsWork with operations and technology teams to ensure efficient product deliveryPartner with credit and risk teams to balance growth objectives with risk parametersServe as the organizational champion for assigned vertical marketsThe Ideal Candidate for This Role
Required
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field7+ years of experience in commercial banking, preferably with product management focusDemonstrated knowledge of commercial lending products and credit structuresStrong analytical skills with ability to interpret market data and financial informationExcellent project management capabilitiesSuperior communication and presentation skillsPreferred
MBA or related advanced degreePrevious experience in one or more key vertical marketsProduct management certificationBackground in financial analysis or business developmentSuccess Metrics
Growth in commercial lending portfolio within assigned verticalsGrowth in commercial deposit portfolioIncreased market share in target industriesRevenue and profitability of vertical-specific productsClient satisfaction and retention ratesCross-sell ratios within vertical marketsCandidates must possess unrestricted work authorization and not require future sponsorship.
Compensation range (base pay) : $95,857.00-$162,957.00
Final compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon work experience, education, and / or skill level.
Work Environment
It is anticipated that the incumbent in this role will work in a hybrid capacity, balancing in-person collaboration three (3) days a week with remote flexibility two (2) days a week. As part of our team, you'll experience the energy and relationship-building of face-to-face collaboration while still enjoying the flexibility of remote workdays.
