Job Summary

Provides semi-skilled general labor services associated with landscaping, construction, maintenance, and repair work on facilities, fixtures, and equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

One (1) year of closely related experience in a field related to delivery service, custodial, grounds, or construction maintenance.

A valid Driver's License accepted by the State of Utah is required at the time of hire. A valid Driver's License issued by the State of Utah must be obtained within six (6) months of hire to operate a County vehicle.

Some Departments may require a current Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) Medical Card at the time of hire AND / OR attainment of a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within six (6) months of hire.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

This position requires extensive physical labor; lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying objects over 50 pounds (occasionally up to 100 pounds with some assistance) : kneeling, bending, sitting, and standing. The work involves exposure to extreme weather conditions, dirt, dust, heat, cold, chemicals, smoke, and / or loud noises.

Important Information Regarding This Position

The Ballfields Maintenance Worker is responsible for the daily upkeep, preparation, and renovation of baseball and softball fields. This position ensures that all playing surfaces are maintained to a safe, clean, and professional standard for games, practices, and events. Duties include field leveling, dragging, chalking, measuring, repairing, and performing general grounds maintenance and construction work as needed.
