Parks South Division Maintenance Lead II Or III

Tooele City is seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to serve as a Parks Maintenance Lead in our Parks South Division. This lead position plays a key role in ensuring the safety, functionality, and beauty of our public spaces-including parks, trails, cemeteries, recreational areas, and facilities.

What You'll Do :

You'll provide daily on-site leadership and perform a wide range of maintenance duties. As a Lead II or III, you'll work side-by-side with the crew while guiding others in task completion and ensuring work is done safely and to high standards. You'll also act as the area supervisor when needed.

Duties vary seasonally and by assignment. Some examples include :

• Leading crews in maintenance of parks, recreational areas, and facilities
• Training and supporting team members on technical tasks and safety standards
• Installing, repairing and adjusting sprinkler systems
• Preparing grave sites and assisting with burial logistics
• Conducting playground and facility safety inspections
• Operating heavy equipment (mini-excavators, skid steers, dump trucks, aerial lifts, etc.)
• Removing snow using plows, snow blowers, and shovels
• Coordinating logistics for special and seasonal events
• Performing basic plumbing, carpentry, painting, and building maintenance
• Completing work orders, maintaining maintenance logs, and purchasing materials

This position is safety-sensitive, and you must comply with all safety protocols and requirements while working in varied environmental conditions.

Schedule & Expectations :

This is a full-time regular position. Workdays are generally Monday through Friday, with hours adjusted based on seasonal needs. This position requires periodic work to support Saturday burials, after-hour emergency call-outs, stand-by status during expected snow events, and community event support that may occur on weekends, evenings, and holidays.
