Pay Range $93,090 - $113,988 This is the lowest to highest salary range in good faith we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs. This position may offer a hybrid schedule, which includes the flexibility to work from home one or more days per week, after a probation period. The specifics of the hybrid schedule, including the exact number of days required in the office and virtual work options may vary based on the needs of the team and the organization.
Job Description
We have an opening for a Relocation and Offsite Fellow Accountant to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment. Under general direction, you will be responsible for preparation, analysis, maintenance, and review of institutional accounting and financial information of the Offsite Fellows and Relocation programs. This position is in the Disbursements Division of the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) Organization. You will Serve as a resource to employees and new hires regarding LLNL Relocation reimbursement policies. Process reimbursement for relocation consistent with LLNL Relocation policy. Reconcile payments to outside vendors who provide relocation, lodging and other travel services for employees and new hires. Research and resolve accounting and system issues reported in ServiceNow, take corrective action, develop future actions plans, and compile action plans for auditors. Analyze and research system functionality, testing, reporting and data discrepancies to ensure integrity in financial reporting. Participate in review, analysis and interpretation of data. Make recommendations for changes or modifications to LLNL's accounting processes and procedures. Function as the primary point of contact for employee reimbursement in the Offsite Fellows Program. Foster effective relationships with customers and colleagues, participate in directorate working groups. This includes meeting with employees as they prepare for a new offsite assignment and communicate allowance options, limitations, and procedures per current federal and institutional policy. Participate in the development approval process, implementation, and interpretation. Communicates new or revised policies, procedures, guidelines, and system upgrades. Compile moderately complex information from multiple sources for complex presentations and reports and perform a combination of complex and difficult administrative and / or task-oriented duties in assignments and conflicting priorities, within standard policies and procedures. Independently assess and respond to inquiries, prioritize actions, follow-up and ensure resolution on a wide variety of issues. Represent the Laboratory as the accounting point of contact on specific organization assignments.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field, including applicable General Ledger work experience, or the equivalent combination of related experience, education, and training in the accounting / finance field. Experience compiling, analyzing, and researching financial data and problem solving requiring mature judgement, discretion and tact. Demonstrated knowledge of accounting theory, policies and procedures, financial systems analysis, and internal controls with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Relevant experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, such as Oracle Financial applications and projects. Basic knowledge and experience applying general accounting operations policies and procedures, including reconciliation of assets, liability, and equity accounts. Experience interpreting and applying financial policies and procedures. Effective verbal and written communication skills and advanced organizational skills to work independently and as part of a team to effectively create detailed and readily understood financial memos, briefings, documentation, and reports. Experience developing and maintaining computer-based spreadsheets and report-generation applications (e.g., Microsoft Word and Excel). Experience coordinating workflow and processes in a highly compliance driven yet customer service environment. Experience collecting, tracking and reporting data in a service operation / customer service area. Strong organizational skills and experience working under minimal supervision, with the ability to independently determine and set priorities and goals in a multitask environment of rapidly changing priorities, deadlines, and frequent interruptions.
Desired Qualifications Knowledge of LLNL and / or DOE and Travel policies, procedures, requirements. Knowledge of NNSA Offsite Assignment Policy NAP-540.2, LLNL Relocation Policy, and Federal Travel Regulations (FTR). Knowledge of LLNL business applications and processes such as TIME, ePay, ORION / Reloviews, Concur, and ORACLE.
