Senior Manager Compensation
The Senior Manager Compensation develops and implements comprehensive compensation programs aligned with business goals, market trends, and legal compliance. Key responsibilities include leading the Global Pay Transparency initiative across the countries in which Valmont conducts business. This role is also responsible for designing strategic pay structure, survey submission, supporting annual compensation cycles, conducting market and pay equity analyses, and ensuring adherence to other regulations. This position supports the development of tools and resources, education and communication to support the organization with compensation. This position reports to the Director of Total Rewards.
Essential Functions :
- Leads the Global Pay Transparency initiative to ensure the organization's compliance within countries that Valmont, Inc. conducts business through partnership with the Global HR team.
- Evaluates Valmont's jobs, leveraging the Compensation's standardized evaluation process and develops, maintains and tracks job descriptions for the organization through partnership with the broader HR organization.
- Researches and conducts on-going regulation analysis to ensure compliance with compensation related country mandates and maintains knowledge, communication, and compliance of global trends in compensation.
- Leads change management efforts related to compensation programs, including communication planning, stakeholder engagement, and training.
- Drives continuous improvement by evaluating the effectiveness of compensation programs and recommending enhancements based on data insights and business feedback.
- Monitors internal pay equity and external competitiveness, providing insights and recommendations to support talent strategies.
- Supports the development and implementation of compensation strategies, policies, programs, and processes, including base pay structures, incentive, and annual salary review processes.
- Submits company participation in appropriate compensation surveys, studies, and various market analysis projects to ensure competitive job pricing.
- Collaborates internally to review and evaluate new and existing job descriptions for placement in range and market pricing to determine grade assignment based on relevant market survey data, internal job equity analysis, recruitment and retention initiatives and alignment of the job with the company's global compensation structure.
- Works with large amounts of data to build tools, reports, dashboards, and metrics to monitor the integrity and validity of the data reported.
- Ensures compensation processes and practices are maintained within Valmont's HRIS system.
- Communicates and coordinates with global compensation resources.
- Develops tools, resources and education to support the broader HR organization with compensation philosophy and practices.
- This position reports directly to the Director Total Rewards and may have one or more direct reports, depending on team structure and business needs.

Work is typically performed in an office setting or remote. The incumbent is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, as well as talk and listen on the phone and in personal conversations or meetings. Environment is fast paced and demanding most of the time. Limited travel requirements (5%) for this position. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms while working in the office with various files and forms and while working on the computer. The employee is occasionally required to move about the office, if in office environment. Incumbent must utilize proper ergonomic safeguards such as monitor height and positions, keyboard location and height and proper wrists rests. The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 15 pounds in working with large files, binders, and computer equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
