The Role :
In this role, you will lead the Warehouse & Logistics functions in a fast-paced, chemical purification and packaging plant , primarily focusing on four main areas - Receiving, Packaging, Shipping and Inventory management. Your ability for building strong relationships and ability to collaborate cross-functionally will be paramount as you establish and monitor key metrics that drive efficiencies and balance costs. You will employ your inventory management knowledge to refine our existing processes. Make a difference as you play a key role in taking our team to the next level!
What You'll Do :
Provide leadership to the logistics and inventory team and ensure safety remains at the core of all activities
Inspire, coach and mentor team members to achieve excellence
Act as a key member of the Burnet Leadership Team to set factory direction and deliver goals
Partner with cross-functional leaders to develop procedures, programs and initiatives designed to achieve Operational Excellence
Meet warehouse operational standards by improving productivity, quality, and housekeeping
Ensure timely and accurate shipments to customers by investigating and reporting on-time shipment performance and managing the daily shipment plan for the factory
Monitor aged inventory and obsolete material (MRB / E&O) in the warehouse and minimize the financial impact
Work as a member of various product development teams to determine packaging compliance and inventory storage requirements for new products
Ensure accurate preparation and processing of export documentation ( i.e. AES in the US) supporting export compliance and document retention requirements according to governing agency and / or corporate policy
Interface with government agencies to pursue clarification of regulations, classification determinations, certifications and exemptions (DOT, IATA, IMDG, Import / export controls, etc.)
Maintain and update local logistics and warehouse policies for shipping, receiving, and inventory practices
Perform and monitor inventory accuracy in all raw material and finished goods storage locations
Manage weekly / quarterly / yearly inventory cycle count procedures and drive best practices for sustainability
Implement and maintain shipping related site metrics
Serve as a leader and strive for team success through personnel development
Be accountable for results and openly express ideas and viewpoints
Leverage technical knowledge, tools, and data to drive continuous improvement and automation
Ensure compliance with applicable transportation regulations
Manage all financial processes associated with the warehouse operations including budgeting and resource planning
Manage relationship with 3PL and planning of inbound and outbound loads to / from the Dallas support warehouse
Manage packaging supplies and other MRO type items utilized in the warehouse
Manage storeroom area responsible for picking and kitting materials for production orders
Prepare presentations and executive summaries reporting out on warehouse related metrics
What We Seek :
Strong leader with a safety first mindset, and lean thinking who drives efficient cross functional collaboration by respectful communications and agile warehouse processes .
Warehouse management experience in a fast paced high volume manufacturing facility or distribution center - Chemical warehouse experience would be a plus.
Bachelors degree in logistics , supply chain, engineering or related field
Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems
Strong Microsoft Office skills particularly in Excel, Powerpoint , and Visio
Experience with managing material handling equipment and improving material flow in a warehouse
Ability to communicate effectively and drive results
Flexible, able to rapidly respond to new situations and to perform multiple tasks
Adaptable, able to adapt quickly to new situations, demands, and priorities
Creative / innovative thinker and observer - quickly assess problems and implement responses
APICS / ASCM certification (CPIM, CSCP, CLTD)
