We are partnering with a leading manufacturer of advanced CNC grinding systems to identify their next Director of R&D and Engineering . This is a senior-level opportunity to shape the future of cutting-edge technology within the aerospace, defense, and industrial machinery sectors.

The Role

As Director of R&D and Engineering , you will take ownership of engineering strategy and execution, driving innovation while ensuring excellence in design, development, and delivery. This role offers the chance to lead a highly skilled engineering team and guide projects from concept through to customer delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of CNC grinding machines, covering mechanical, structural, spindle, bearing, and software integration.
• Champion innovation, spearheading R&D initiatives that improve machine performance, stability, and efficiency.
• Oversee CAD modeling, assemblies, BOMs, and simulations using SolidWorks, ensuring robust engineering output.
• Manage prototyping, testing, and iterative product improvements.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, vendors, and customers to ensure full system integration.
• Provide technical support during assembly, commissioning, and field service.
• Mentor and develop engineering talent, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Drive continuous improvement in performance, cost reduction, and workflows.
