Key Responsibilities
Production Leadership
- Oversee all aspects of production, including pre-production planning, on-set execution, and post-production delivery.
- Develop and manage detailed production schedules, call sheets, and shot lists to ensure projects run on time and within budget.
- Supervise day-to-day operations of the internal production team, ensuring communication and workflow efficiency.
- Lead on-set operations, ensuring that all departments — camera, lighting, sound, and creative — are aligned.
Freelancer & Crew Management
Hire, brief, and manage freelancers across shoots, ensuring they understand their roles and expectations.Maintain an efficient and proactive on-set environment — ensuring no one is idle, and every crew member is actively contributing.Set clear goals and expectations for each role, preparing freelancers for success through strong pre-production communication.Provide real-time feedback and direction on set to maintain momentum and quality.Cultivate a respectful, motivated, and solution-oriented team culture.Technical Oversight (Shooting & Post)
Possess deep technical understanding of camera systems, lighting setups, and post-production workflows.Review technical requirements for each shoot, advising on equipment, formats, and shooting parameters.Oversee post-production processes — editing, color, sound, and delivery — to ensure technical excellence and consistency.Ensure media management, file transfers, and backups follow best practices.Budget & Resource Management
Create, monitor, and manage production budgets from start to finish.Negotiate with vendors, freelancers, and rental houses to secure best rates while maintaining quality.Approve expenses, reconcile costs, and ensure all reporting is accurate and timely.Strategically allocate resources across concurrent projects to maintain efficiency.Internal Team Management
Manage the internal production team on a day-to-day basis — providing guidance, setting priorities, and ensuring deliverables stay on track.Lead internal meetings, communicate clear production goals, and delegate responsibilities effectively.Foster a supportive environment that encourages accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate closely with creative directors, strategists, and clients to translate ideas into executable production plans.Serve as the key communication bridge between creative and technical departments.Maintain alignment between creative intent, production realities, and client expectations.Qualifications
10+ years of experience in production for branded content, film, or digital media.Proven track record of managing multi-departmental teams and large-scale shoots.Hands-on technical knowledge of cameras (Sony, RED, ARRI), lighting, and post-production software (Adobe Premiere, DaVinci, etc).Strong leadership and organizational skills; able to direct teams under pressure with confidence and calm.Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.Experience managing budgets, vendors, and project timelines.Bachelor’s degree in Film, Media, Communications, or a related field preferred.About VX Media
