Job Summary :

Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, general plant / mine labor and clean up of production areas; observe, monitor and report any conditions that could lead to product nonconformity or other irregularity; being trained in various entry-level production positions and fills in as needed during vacation, absences, and increased production demands; perform kiln outage work including refractory; off load / handling of coal, report equipment problems identified to management; complete equipment pre-shift report, if applicable; clean work areas; shovel stone from around conveyors; maintain bathroom facilities; removal and installation of kiln refractory; operate small front end loader; replace or assist other workers as needed or directed; and other duties as assigned by management.

Job Qualifications :

Physical Demands : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, frequently required to walk and occasionally required to sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and / or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and / or move up to 75 pounds, and occasionally lift and / or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment : While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts; in high, precarious places; in outside weather conditions; and with explosives and is frequently exposed to wet and or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, petroleum products, toxic or caustic chemicals, petroleum products, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, risk of radiation, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
