About The Position
Position Summary
The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders. The SLP develops individualized treatment plans, provides direct therapy, and collaborates with families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes. This role ensures compliance with regulatory standards, ASHA guidelines, and facility policies while maintaining high-quality, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
Screen, evaluate, and rehabilitate patients with speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders.
Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans aligned with regulatory and clinical practice standards.
Administer standardized assessments to support interventions and document findings in the EMR system.
Monitor and adjust treatment plans based on patient progress and clinical outcomes.
Provide patient and family education, consultation, and counseling on speech and swallowing disorders.
Communicate effectively with supervisors, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members regarding patient progress, barriers, and discharge planning.
Prepare comprehensive discharge summaries and ensure accurate documentation of treatment minutes and services provided.
Participate in care conferences, utilization reviews, and required facility or company trainings.
Supervise and support Clinical Fellows (CFY) or Speech-Language Pathology students when applicable.
Adhere to ASHA’s Code of Ethics, state practice acts, and facility guidelines at all times.

Job Requirements
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience : Minimum 1 year of SLP experience – Required
New grads considered if Level II clinical experience (not only Level I observation).
Long-Term Care (LTC) or Rehab experience – Required.
Licensure / Certification :
Active Missouri SLP License – Required
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) – Required
3 years with active CCS – Preferred
Other : Strong documentation, communication, and patient education skills.
