We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our team in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. This contract position offers an opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the accuracy of financial records and supporting audit preparations. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and contribute to process improvements across the accounting function.

Responsibilities :

Reconcile five months of bank transactions against the general ledger to ensure accuracy.

Investigate discrepancies, reclassify incorrect general ledger entries, and prepare necessary journal entries.

Organize payments into deposits and verify they align with corresponding bank activity.

Collaborate with the Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) teams to validate financial reporting and improve transaction matching.

Support year-end audit preparations by completing reconciliations within specified deadlines.

Identify trends and propose enhancements to accounting processes using advanced analytical tools such as pivot tables.

Work closely with the administrative team to integrate accounting procedures for newly acquired businesses.

Handle ad-hoc accounting projects in response to evolving business needs.

Contribute to a collaborative environment by partnering with hybrid team members both in-office and remotely.

Requirements :

Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, with openness to more senior backgrounds.

Proficiency in reconciliation processes and journal entry creation.

Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and pattern recognition.

Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to resolving transactional discrepancies.

Familiarity with accounting software; experience with NetSuite is beneficial but not mandatory.

Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, with in-office work Monday through Thursday and remote work on Fridays.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration across teams and departments.
