Event Medical Assistant (CA)
DAWSON is currently seeking team-oriented applicants to fill our Event Medical Assistant positions located throughout the State of California in support of the Medical Readiness Services for the California Army National Guard (CAARNG). Work is primarily on weekends, with some occasional weekdays. All work is on a part-time "as needed" basis. We provide health readiness services to meet the medical and dental requirements to maintain a deployable military force for the CAARNG.
Duties and responsibilities could include :
- Assist in setting up and maintaining exam stations and medical admin areas
- Perform and document vital sign measurements including blood pressure, height and weight
- Complete vision screenings using Snellen or near vison eye charts and other equipment as required
- Assist with lab and immunization administrative processes and applicable paperwork
- Transcribe, annotate, and organize required documentation for Individual Medical Readiness (IMR) tracking
- Support proper completion and legibility of paper documentation for upload into MEDCHART systems including MODS
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and infection control protocols
- May support vaccination administration and assist in drawing labs
- Maintain accurate records, ensure form completion, and flag incomplete documentation
- Coordinate with clinical team leads and provide logistical support between stations
Qualifications :
Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) or equivalent national certification (e.g., CMA, RMA, NCMA) preferred OR completion of formal military medical training (e.g., U.S. Army 68W, Air Force 4N0X1, or equivalent) with documentation of medical skills trainingAt least 1 year of experience in a clinical, military, or public health settingCPR / BLS certification required or must be obtained prior to first eventExcellent customer service skills and experience interacting with difficult clienteleUtilization of universal precautions for patient careAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changes quicklyAbility to concentrate for lengthy periods and perform accurately with adequate speedMust submit no less than two professional references with resumeTeam members must be collaborative and solution orientedExperience working in a Military setting and working knowledge of the regulations and policies applicable to Individual Medical Readiness (IMR) and deployment is preferredBasic computer knowledge and skillsStrong attention to detail and ability to follow structured documentation and infection control protocolsDAWSON is an Equal Opportunity / VEVRAA federal contractor.
