Position Summary : The experienced Chemical Process Engineer will serve as a resource for the plant, provide both technical and operational expertise to develop processes to transform raw materials into high-quality product while controlling risk associated with chemical manufacturing plant improvements.  Local candidates only, no relocation available.

In This Role, You Will :

• Provide direct engineering support to plant operations to ensure objectives for the 24 / 7 continuous chemical manufacturing plant are consistently and successfully met.
• Champion process optimization, troubleshoot and resolve complex operational and process issues.
• Work closely with Operations Manager and all levels of employees onsite to deliver innovative, safe, and reliable performance solutions and production process improvements.
• Translate guidelines and standards into practice, troubleshoot and solve complex technical issues, and recommend cost-effective solutions to elevate the business.
• Design and modify process flow diagrams (PFD), process and instrumentation diagram (P&ID) drawings.
• Perform process modeling, hydraulic calculations, and simulations.
• Develop instrument data and specification sheets, complete documentation for the work performed onsite in the plant.
• Facilitate client hazard and operability reviews, hazard analysis review process, and lead cross functional project team efforts to mitigate risk.
• Identify and evaluate start up process improvements to increase production capacity, improve operating liability, reduce manufacturing costs and energy usage, conserve raw materials, improve both product yields and product quality.
• Support annual turnaround event and all major maintenance activities performed onsite.
• Comply with all environmental, health and safety related best practices, policies, and procedures, including process safety management (PSM).
• Diligently adhere to and fulfill all Responsible Care® requirements, demonstrate a steadfast commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and ethical practices in all aspects of your position within the organization.
