Young Adult Librarian, the Morristown & Morris Township Library

Are you a people person and enjoy working with the public?

The Morristown & Morris Township Library is seeking a friendly, customer service-oriented person to join our creative team as our Young Adult Librarian in the Children’s Department. The person in this position will head services, programming, outreach, and collection development for our middle and high school grade students and work directly with the Head of the Children’s Department to implement goals and benchmarks.

What is the Library looking for in a candidate?

In addition to having a Master’s Degree in Library or Information Science, the candidate should have a strong background in YA and / or children’s services, an interest in running programming for teens, a strong background in the technology our young people use, and be committed to exemplary customer service. We are looking for someone with excellent verbal and written communication skills, experience with a variety of library software such as ILS and room reservation systems, web-based and software-based computer programs including Canva and Excel, and familiarity with website maintenance and social media. Fluency in Spanish is desirable.

What are the perks for working at the Library?

This is a full-time position, 35 hours per week that includes some evenings and weekends. The salary begins at $59,000, commensurate with experience. The position also includes a pension plan (plus optional 403b), great vacation benefits, health insurance, and an optional dental plan.
