The LHH is seeking a Quality Engineer for a Direct Hire, Permanent Placement position with an aerospace and defense manufacturing client located in Indianapolis, IN. In this role, you will join a well-established organization with a very strong reputation within their industries. You will have the opportunity to lead efforts to continue to refine and enhance product quality while also driving initiatives aimed at improving innovation, process improvement, and continuous improvement throughout the design and manufacturing processes. The compensation is commensurate to experience and will range between $85,000-95,000 per year plus bonus and includes comprehensive benefit and insurance plans, generous Paid Time Off, and a 401K plan with a company match.
Due to government regulations involving defense contracts, candidates must possess U.S. Citizenship in order to be considered for this position. Candidates without valid U.S. Citizenship need not apply.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Utilize and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) to meet industry and customer standardsConduct inspections and audits of components, processes, and products for regulatory and customer compliancePerform root cause analysis and implement corrective / preventive actions for quality issues and defectsCompile and submit data packages and inspection documentation for customer approvalReview and validate outgoing shipments for documentation accuracy and product qualityInterpret engineering drawings and specifications to guide inspection methods and equipment selectionCreate drawings and inspection reports for customer deliverablesFacilitate nonconformance investigations and collaborate with customer quality contactsSupport NADCAP certification efforts and manage inspection forms related to defense contractsLiaise with suppliers to ensure incoming material quality and resolve manufacturing concernsUtilize optical scanning systems and manual tools for dimensional and visual inspectionsMaintain calibration records and ensure gage compliance with internal and external standardsAnalyze quality data to identify trends and support continuous improvement initiativesCollaborate with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to resolve quality concernsMaintain and update quality control plans, SOPs, and inspection documentationApply statistical process control methods to monitor and improve manufacturing performanceQUALIFICATIONS
