Dr. Eugenia Prokopets is a board certified, periodontal microsurgeon looking for a stellar surgical assistant that will work along side of her. We are looking for a strong candidate to join our vibrant customer service oriented team. We pride ourselves on exceptional patient care, treating patients as if they were family. Must be a strong team player and highly motivated to grow and expand your knowledge on the techniques and skills involved with Periodontal Microsurgery.
Job Overview :
As a Periodontal Surgical Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our periodontal procedures and cosmetic treatments. You will work closely with our periodontist and clinical team to ensure the delivery of exceptional patient care. This position requires a blend of surgical expertise, customer service, cosmetic awareness and a commitment to maintaining a positive patient experience.
Responsibilities : Surgical Assisting :
Assist periodontists during surgical procedures, including but not limited to extractions, dental implant placements, soft tissue grafting, osseous surgery, crown lengthening, biopsies, sinus lifts.Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments and prepare dental operatoriesEnsure patient comfort and safety during proceduresAssist with microsurgery and become proficient working through the microscopePerform phlebotomy for L-PRF preparationCosmetic Procedures :
Assist doctor in botox and filler treatmentsEnsure proper stock of cosmetic supplies and materialsEducate patients on post-treatment care for cosmetic proceduresPatient Care :
Greet and prepare patients for surgical and cosmetic proceduresReview medical history and obtain proper vitalsAssist in clinical photographyMaintain patient records and update treatment plans as necessaryProvide pre and post-operative instructions and follow-up care guidelinesRadiographic Imaging :
Capture and process digital radiographs as required for treatment planningEnsure accuracy and clarity of imaging for diagnostic purposesCapture CBCT imagesUnderstand CBCT basic implant planningInfection Control :
Adhere to strict infection control protocols and maintain a sterile environmentMonitor and manage the sterilization and maintenance of instrumentsMaintain OSHA standards at all timesPatient Reception :
Greet patients warmly and ensure a welcoming environment at the front deskEfficiently manage patient check-ins and check-outs, providing necessary forms andinformationQualifications :
Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or equivalent certification.Previous experience in a surgical or periodontal setting is preferredProficient in dental radiology with Maryland radiology licenseExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsStrong organizational skills with attention to detail
