The Role : Materials Manager
Position Summary : The Materials Manager is responsible for inventory control of all raw materials, including incoming storage and tracking of fabric and chemicals for production. The individual will have responsibility for accounting of work orders as they relate to fabric and chemical usage, standard cost, and labor. Responsibilities include oversight of shipping, receiving, and production scheduling within the facility. This position will be responsible for the purchase of plant consumables including plant supplies, office supplies, packaging, and shipping materials.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Inventory Management :
Track and manage accurate inventory of greige goods and chemicals for operations.Montor aged inventory consumption and coordinate with Finance department.Receive incoming shipment of greige and chemicals and ensure proper storage location and labeling. Work with Plant Manager to ensure FIFO is maintained.Conduct chemical inventory and work with finance in monthly reconciliation. Oversee packaging inventory within departmentConduct annual inventory and work with finance and auditors.Track and manage accurate delivery and inventory of packaging consumables.Lead the disposition plan for obsolete chemicals.Maintain appropriate stocking levels for WIP and Finished goods.Operate ERP and IT systems to support inventor and logistics success.Purchasing & Sourcing :
Purchase plant consumable items : PPE, Packaging materials, tape, thread, stretch wrap, labels, paper, wash range cabinet supplies, swatch book materials, pallets, office supplies.Negotiate contracts as needed for purchasing.Act as a back-up for the Purchasing ManagerMaintain ERP system to properly direct scheduling, inventory, purchasing, shipping and receiving.Other tasks as assignedQualifications and Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in related field (technical or business) highly desired.5-7 years of inventory management and production control experience within a manufacturing environment.Purchasing experience preferable.Analytical minded with a strong attention to detail and strong organizational, multi-tasking, and problem-solving abilities.Ability to work independently with a desire to make an impact on continuous improvement systems.A combination of education and experience may meet the above requirements.Microsoft Excel and Office related product experience.Aurora offers a host of benefits including competitive salary, full medical, dental, and vision insurance, flexible spending plan, and 401k plan.
