SS116 Technician II

Within the Planetary Environments Laboratory of NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, ADNET Systems has an opening for a mass spectrometer technician to construct elements of space flight mass spectrometer instrumentation, ground support equipment, testing, and calibration facilities on a variety of planetary science missions. The successful candidate must have experience working with ultra high vacuum systems, clean environments, direct use and understanding of mass spectrometry. It is desirable for the candidate to have worked in a clean room environment, where gloves, tweezers, and cleanroom garments can provide an extra challenge when assembling at the small scale. Experience with mass spectrometer metrology, small-scale fabrication, welding, machining, and quality screening of parts is also desired.

Required :

• High school diploma
• 2+ years experience in fine assembly work
• Demonstrated experience on previous mass spectrometer mission work.
• US Citizenship or Permanent Residency (LPR) required, with US residency for the past 3 consecutive years.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Tier 1 Investigation through NASA.
