Associate, Planned Giving
The Associate, Planned Giving will play a key role in growing legacy giving to Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA). This individual will manage a portfolio of planned giving donors and prospects, implement donor-centric engagement and marketing strategies, and support estate administration. The associate will work closely with internal stakeholders and utilize tools such as FreeWill and RE NXT to strengthen and help scale the organizations planned giving program.
This role is ideal for a mission-driven, detail-oriented professional who excels at relationship building, project management, and donor engagement in a data-informed fundraising environment.
Essential Responsibilities
Donor Cultivation & Stewardship
- Cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of planned giving prospects and donors in alignment with GSUSAs legacy giving strategies.
- Ensure timely, personalized, and mission-aligned communication and stewardship that honors each donors intent and impact.
- Collaborate with internal fundraising and marketing teams to provide customized engagement for legacy donors.
Marketing & Outreach
Lead and execute the annual planned giving marketing strategy, including FreeWill campaigns, mailings, digital communications, and donor recognition programs.Partner with the Communications team to develop content that educates and inspires giving via wills, trusts, and other estate planning tools.Promote GSUSAs legacy giving opportunities across internal and external audiences, including donors, volunteers, and alumni.Gift Administration & Reporting
Coordinate the administration of estate gifts in partnership with legal and finance teams, including communication with executors, attorneys, and family members.Accurately document all interactions, proposals, and donor intentions in Raisers Edge NXT, ensuring data integrity and timely reporting.Generate reports and dashboards to measure impact, pipeline growth, and donor engagement.Collaboration & Leadership
Act as a liaison with FreeWill, ensuring effective campaign execution and donor data integration.Engage with professional advisors and legacy planning networks to increase awareness of GSUSAs planned giving opportunities.Serve as a representative of GSUSA at donor events, cultivation opportunities, and national convenings as needed.Other Duties : Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.

Required Competencies
Strong interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with a wide range of constituents.Familiarity with estate planning vehicles (wills, bequests, charitable trusts, etc.) and basic planned giving concepts.Exceptional attention to detail, project management, and organizational skills.Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion.Commitment to the mission and values of Girl Scouts of the USA.Required Technical Skills
Office 365 or similar suites
Competency in PowerPoint or similar presentation software
Competency in Microsoft Excel or similar software
Experience in Raisers Edge NXT preferred
You Need
Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in fundraising, nonprofit management, or related field.1+ year of experience in nonprofit development, planned giving, or legacy fundraising; experience with FreeWill and Raisers Edge NXT strongly preferred.SALARY RANGE : $66,000 - $72,000
This represents the present low and high end of the pay range for this position. This pay range is only applicable to NYC Metro-based employees, on a hybrid schedule. Actual pay will vary based on various factors, including but not limited to experience.

Position Type : This is a full-time, hybrid position with 2 days on site. GSUSA is based in New York City.
