Job Description
The Principal, Contracts will provide contractual guidance and direction as it relates to the execution of company programs, business development, and day-to-day operations. This role will oversee and execute BPMI Contracts and support compliance with FAR, DFAR, and the applicable BPMI contract documents.
Essential Functions
- Preparation, negotiation, acceptance and management of contracts including time and materials, firm-fixed price, fixed price incentive fee, and cost reimbursement.
- Problem Solving Skills. The ability to investigate a struggling program, determine the problem or cause of those struggles, and to determine if there are any opportunities to improve the situation - such as entitlements.
- Provide contractual advice and guidance and work cooperatively with a multitude of organizations ranging from technical, program office, finance, pricing and security for seamless contract administration.
- Provide knowledge of applicable government regulations in the execution of business activity. Serve as advisor and make recommendations as needed on contractual, proposal and business matters.
- Support proposal efforts including review of contract provisions and review of proposal response.
- Conduct negotiation activity and settlement of provisions, producing sound contract terms and conditions, teaming agreements, contract amendments / modifications, which mitigate / minimize company risk and support company goals.
- Comply with procedures and systems necessary to afford adequate contract controls and services, including contract records management and reporting.
- Coordinate all essential activity with legal Counsel and obtain necessary approvals for proposal submittals, contract negotiation, award, execution, and close-out.
- Work with business development and program departments to support current and future business needs.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.10+ years of experience with leadership in contracts management and proposal development, including overseeing large, complex proposals and negotiations.Demonstrated subject matter expertise in Government contractingDemonstrated strong business acumen.Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements related to proposal preparation, contract negotiation, and the FAR, DFAR, ITAR and other government procurement regulations.This position will require the individual to be a U.S. citizen and have the ability to obtain a security clearance.Seniority level
