Auto Body Technician Pay Rate and Hours :
- $22.65 / hr
- Monday-Thursday 4pm-2 : 30am, OT as required
Auto Body Technician Job Summary :
We are seeking a skilled Auto Body Technician to join our team in a dynamic bus manufacturing plant. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing structural repairs, body panel fitting, metal fabrication, and surface preparation on newly built buses. This role is critical to ensuring our buses meet strict quality, safety, and aesthetic standards before final delivery.
Auto Body Technician Key Responsibilities :
Fit, align, and secure body panels, doors, hatches, and other structural components on new buses.Perform sanding, grinding, and other surface preparation tasks in readiness for painting.Conduct minor body repairs and panel fabrication, including straightening frames, welding, and filling imperfections.Install trim, bumpers, moldings, windows, and hardware as part of final body assembly.Operate various tools and equipment such as MIG welders, grinders, riveters, pneumatic tools, and hand tools.Follow engineering blueprints, build sheets, and technical drawings accurately.Maintain quality control throughout the bodywork process, inspecting for alignment, finish, and fit.Work collaboratively with other technicians, engineers, and quality assurance teams to resolve build issues.Adhere strictly to workplace safety standards, policies, and procedures.Maintain a clean and organized work area.Auto Body Technician Qualifications Required :
Proficiency in using body repair tools and equipment.Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and engineering drawings.Strong attention to detail and quality craftsmanship.Auto Body Technician Preferred :
Technical certification or diploma in Auto Body Repair or related field.Minimum 2–3 years of auto body repair experience, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.Experience working with large vehicles (e.g., buses, trucks, RVs).Welding certification (MIG or TIG) is a plus.Auto Body Technician Physical Requirements :
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.Standing, bending, and kneeling for extended periods.Comfortable working in a production floor environment with moderate noise and dust.Key Personnel Benefits
