Overview
Please join a dynamic, passionate group of substance use counselors, case managers, and counseling interns. Our Substance Use Disorders (SUD) department aims to support clinical staff with opportunities for growth while serving a diverse population. The team collaborates to help clients, including adults and adolescents, on a recovery journey. Clients seeking services may also have co-occurring mental wellness needs related to substance use.
Responsibilities
- Complete formal substance use intakes with screenings and assessments, including biopsychosocial assessments, mental status exam, communicable disease assessment, financial eligibility, admission paperwork, consent forms, referrals to appropriate level of care, input DSM-5 diagnostic impressions, and recommendations for treatment.
- Collaborate on and modify person-centered treatment plans and discharge plans after treatment completion.
- Provide orientation to the substance abuse program and facilitate individual and group counseling. Group counseling will include interpersonal process groups and psychoeducation groups with evidence-based practices.
- Offer case management to ensure development of external supports for long-term recovery.
- Support treatment services within jails or other residential treatment partnerships (mixed virtual and in-person) for incarcerated individuals who are ready to address their substance use needs and connect with staff after release.
- Meet with the treatment team as scheduled to coordinate client services; comply with admissions, programming, curriculum, scheduling guidelines, crisis intervention, and safety protocols.
- Perform duties flexibly; may work in other clinics when needed.
- Potentially work evening hours at least four days a week (to be determined) and four, ten-hour days a week.

Credentials
Minimum Qualifications : Must meet the criteria and hold a valid license as an LCDC. An LCDC-I will be considered with documented experience in :
Assessing, diagnosing, and evidence-based treatment of substance use disordersDemonstrated knowledge of the effects of substance use disorders and barriers to treatmentHistorical placements with a certified training instituteLicensure exam completed and passed within 24 monthsIf applicable, evidence of testing results and documented supervised work experience from requestMust have valid Texas driver's license and maintain approved driving status throughout employmentPreferred Qualifications
