Office Administrator

Overview

Vaughn Ouellette, Moderator, has been a member of Christian Temple since 1990. He previously served numerous church positions, including Vice-Moderator, Moderator, Assistant Treasurer, Treasurer, Trustee, Deacon, Elder Chair, Red Cross Blood Drive Coordinator, and assorted volunteer positions. He presently serves as an Elder, and member of the Chancel Choir and the Worship Committee. Currently, he is a member of the Catonsville Dismantling Racism Committee. He formerly served the Christian Church Capital Area Region as Moderator-elect, Moderator, and Treasurer; and member of the Commission on Mission Funding in the Office of the President and General Minister, Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). He also served the Disciples Justice Action Network (DJAN), Inc., as Treasurer and Trustee; and served on other local non-profit boards. He retired from federal service with the Social Security Administration, Bureau of Medicare, and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. He is a U.S. Navy veteran and served during the Vietnam War era.

Vice Moderator

Amy Luking has been a member of Christian Temple since 1990 and is currently serving as Vice Moderator of the congregation. Professionally, she is an Assistant Professor of Nutrition and, together with her husband Bob, raised their three children—Katrina, Emily, and Calvin—within the supportive community of Christian Temple. Over the years, Amy has served as a Sunday School teacher, participated in the Quionia group, and joined several intergenerational work trips. She has also been a member and chair of the Nominating Committee. Today, she continues her service as a Deacon, rings in the bell choir, and helps ensure that Journey to Bethlehem has been carried on each year since it began at Christian Temple.

Thomas Higdon serves as the Office Administrator at Christian Temple, where he supports the day-to-day operations of the church office and helps keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes. With a background in nonprofit leadership, community organizing, and administrative management, Thomas brings both experience and a heart for service to his role. He enjoys being part of a welcoming and vibrant church community and is committed to ensuring that members and visitors alike feel supported and cared for.

In addition to his work at Christian Temple, Thomas is the Executive Director of the Maryland Alliance for Sensible Drug Policy, a nonprofit that advocates for drug policies rooted in dignity, health, and compassion. His work in this role is deeply informed by lived experience and a commitment to uplifting the voices of people most impacted by these issues.

Thomas lives in Baltimore County with his wife, Kathryn, his stepson, Parker, and their dog, Luna. He's a humanist, a member of the Towson Unitarian Universalist Church, and enjoys reading, swimming, biking, and running.

Custodian

John Jordan

Christian Temple has partnered with JPM Janitorial for 8 years which has allowed us to work alongside John Jordan. John is creative and compassionate and has an eye for making our building look great.

Howard has served Christian Temple for over a decade and has kept our property looking beautiful. When not working his full-time gig, hanging out with Nancy at the beach, or taking care of the grandbaby, you can find Howard wearing orange and purple at every game in Camden Yards or M&T Bank Stadium. Go O\'s! Go Ravens!

Director of Bells

Beau has served Christian Temple and directed our handbells and chimes since August of 2014. Our handbell choirs have made incredible music with Beau at the helm and there is room for you! Jeff is responsible each Sunday for making sure that those outside the Sanctuary are included in worship. Using three PTZ cameras, Jeff makes magic every time we gather together!
