Sr. Risk Associate (FS)
As a Senior Risk Associate in Capital One's Financial Services Business Risk Office (first line of defense), you will provide professional risk judgment that enables business partners to tackle major company challenges. In this role, not only will you lean into your analytical and problem solving skills by developing and deploying innovative solutions to mitigate risks to the Company, but you will also grow your strategic and influencing skills as you create and implement risk strategies that enable the Company to win in the market. As an integral member of the team, you will have a high level of exposure across the division, partnering closely with senior business and risk office leaders, technology, compliance, legal, and Operational Risk Management.
In your role, you will :
- Develop a deep understanding of Auto Finance business strategies, products, services, and risk profile.
- Manage end-to-end risk monitoring and governance processes.
- Analyze Sales Practices data from multiple business lines to identify trends, mitigate conduct risk, and produce a monthly report for senior leadership.
- Serve as a key liaison between the Business Risk Office and internal partners such as in Compliance, Fraud, and business teams to provide guidance, resolve issues, and ensure adherence to risk management frameworks.
- Execute key governance controls that support regulatory reporting integrity by managing quarterly certification processes and securing leadership approvals for key filings.
- Facilitate critical governance forums by preparing materials, managing logistics, facilitating meetings with senior leadership.
- Provide independent challenge and oversight of first-line monitoring activities, escalating potential violations, control gaps, and trending risks to executive management and other stakeholders as required.
- Support regulatory and financial reporting integrity by facilitating quarterly certifications and providing evidence for regulatory filings.
- Analyze data to proactively identify emerging risks and trends, providing insights that support internal partners in their decision-making.
- Identify opportunities to improve risk management practices by developing solutions to automate processes, eliminate waste, and enhance risk insights.
- Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, including developing and delivering presentations to senior leadership.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and / or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
