We are seeking a strategic and analytical Sr. Technology FinOps Analyst to join our organization. This role is critical in forecasting, monitoring, and optimizing cloud spend across multiple cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), while also driving return on investment (ROI) analysis for technology initiatives. The ideal candidate will partner with the Technology Leadership team and cross-functional teams to ensure investments are financially sound, scalable, and aligned with business goals.
Key Responsibilities :
Cloud Financial Analysis
- Develop and maintain accurate forecasts for cloud usage and spend across multiple platforms, incorporating business growth, seasonal trends, and strategic initiatives.
- Work with enterprise technology FinOps partners to implement processes to monitor cloud spend in real-time; identifying anomalies, inefficiencies, and opportunities for cost control.
- Create dashboards and reports that provide visibility into cloud costs and ROI metrics. Present actionable insights to leadership and stakeholders.
- Evaluate the financial impact and value realization of cloud and technology investments. Track performance against business cases and recommend adjustments to maximize ROI.
- Collaborate with engineering and DevOps teams to identify and implement cost-saving strategies such as workload scheduling, reserved instances, savings plans, and resource rightsizing.
- Promote FinOps principles across the organization. Drive accountability for cloud spend through chargeback / showback models and foster a culture of cost awareness.
- Leverage cloud cost management platforms (Apptio) and develop automation to streamline financial operations and ROI tracking.
Investment Management
Partners with Finance to develop financial models to aid in investment decisions and LRP, and determines impact on business performance and ROIWorks closely with Finance partners on advanced financial analyses and develops standard and non-standard reportsMaintains portfolio investment spend and ROISupports Technology teams with ad-hoc analysis needsQualifications & Preferred Skills :
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field Required8+ years financial planning & analysis or corporate accounting experience required with a strong background in budgeting and forecastingFinOps Certified Practitioner or equivalent.Experience in high-growth or transformation-focused organizations.Familiarity with agile and DevOps practices.Ability to work cross-functionally in a matrixed environment.Superior analytical skills, combined with business judgment and ability to communicate with a management teamExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, organized, detail-oriented, and thoroughComfortability in working with assumptions and imperfect dataAdvanced experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and AccessStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to adjust to fast-paced work environmentWe are proud to offer a competitive compensation package at McKesson as part of our Total Rewards. Our Base Pay Range for this position $98,900 - $164,800
