Job Title : Supervisor, Freight Forwarding

Employment Type : Direct Hire

Location : Plano, TX (Hybrid – 3 days in office, 2 days remote)

Schedule : Monday – Friday, 9 : 00 AM – 5 : 00 PM, 1-hour lunch

Salary : $65,000 – $72,000 per year

Position Overview

Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking an experienced Freight Forwarding Supervisor to lead a small team of Senior Specialists in Plano, TX. This hybrid role combines hands-on freight forwarding operations with team management, providing oversight for international and domestic shipments. The ideal candidate has a strong background in freight forwarding, international exports, and supervisory experience, with proven expertise using Cargowise.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end freight forwarding operations for assigned customer accounts, including drayage, rail, air, and ocean shipments.
• Supervise, train, and provide guidance to 2 local hybrid Senior Specialists.
• Monitor customer service quality, resolve escalated issues, and ensure timely communication with clients.
• Maintain relationships with service providers and troubleshoot coordination challenges.
• Review and approve negotiated freight rates in alignment with budget and cost-efficiency goals.
• Audit shipment documentation and data entry for accuracy; provide training and feedback to improve performance.
• Ensure compliance with global trade regulations and company procedures.
• Track shipment performance and communicate updates to clients and internal teams.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
• Review billing and payments for accuracy, support profit margin tracking, and process vendor and carrier payments.
• Maintain SOPs and cross-train team members for coverage during absences.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
