Air Reserve Technician
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an Air Reserve Technician (ART), responsible for staff guidance, and management of operational and training programs for assigned units.
Responsibilities include :
- Providing advocacy of enlisted aircrew activities of subordinate flying units to include unit aircrew flight currency and ground training programs.
- Providing staff oversight over aircraft operations and resources.
- Creating trend analysis / status reports for assigned specialty and flying units.
- Providing coordination on aircrew waivers relating to special mission sorties.
- Participating as an aircrew member / instructor / evaluator in assigned aircraft.

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions for the GS-0301 Series. Examples of specialized experience includes familiarity with aircraft servicing procedures, Air Traffic Control rules and regulations, flight planning requirements, flight planning systems and interpreting Notices to Airmen and other pertinent flight publications.
