Accountant II
The Accountant II performs professional governmental accounting work applying generally accepted accounting principles to create, analyze and present financial information. Reconciles accounts, prepares financial statements and reports, and posts general ledger entries. Conducts month-end closings and account analysis. Assists in the year-end audit process. Assists other departments in financial record keeping, monitoring expenditures, and resolving discrepancies in accounts.

Education : Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or Business
Work Experience : Minimum 3 years of governmental accounting
Certifications and / or Licensures : None

Computer Skills - Strong skills needed to generate spreadsheets and to work with databases and accounting software.

Project Management - Strong skills needed for project planning.
Mathematical - Strong skills needed for manipulating numbers and working with spreadsheet formulas and calculations.
Work is performed in a standard office environment, requiring sitting for extended periods of time, and occasional light lifting (up to 15 lbs.). Job requires visual and physical capabilities to work on computers and associated equipment for prolonged periods of time (4-6 hours daily).
