Sr. Quality Control Inspector - Bolton, MA
Hourly Rate up to $40 per hour ????
Hours : 6 : 00am - 4 : 30pm - mandatory overtime required until 2026
Position Summary
The Sr Quality Control Inspector is a critical technical role requiring strong expertise in Mechanical parts inspection. This individual will ensure that all manufactured components and finished products meet stringent quality and specification standards. This role requires proficiency in diverse inspection methods, familiarity with regulatory compliance, and the ability to collaborate closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to maintain product integrity.
Essential Functions
- Perform dimensional, visual, and functional inspections of incoming components, subassemblies, and finished goods.
- Maintain all calibrated equipment within the Quality Control Lab and assist in performing Internal Calibrations according to established procedures.
- Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI), in-process inspections, final acceptance inspections, and Returned Material Inspections (RMA).
- Generate and maintain part-specific inspection forms and detailed inspection reports.
- Support inspection-related activities for new product introduction (NPI) and research projects.
- Demonstrate expert proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) symbols, and complex technical specifications.
- Document, process, and support investigations into any non-conforming materials (NCM) found during the inspection process.
- Provide necessary inspection records to support internal and external quality system audits.
- Collaborate with external partners and suppliers for technical information and quality clarification.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing inspection efficiency, accuracy, and overall product quality.
- May be required to move and position parts greater than 20 lbs with the use of appropriate material handling equipment (hoists and / or lifts).
Qualifications
Education, Training, and Experience :
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. An associate degree or higher is a plus.Professional Quality Certification (e.g., ASQ Certification as a CQT, CQI, or equivalent) is a strong plus.At least seven (7) years of experience in Quality Control. Experience inspecting precision components in a highly regulated manufacturing environment is a plus.Strong background in mechanical inspection, calibration, and metrology.Strong knowledge of GD&T and mechanical drawings.Technical and System Skills :
Proficient in the use of precision inspection tools such as Calipers, Micrometers, Microhite, Pin gages, Thread gages, etc.Familiar with the use of ERP / MRP systems and electronic quality management systems (eQMS).Basic Knowledge of component soldering or assembly standards (such as IPC standards).Experience in using MS Office tools (Word, Excel, SharePoint, etc.).Core Competencies :
