The candidate will be responsible for :
Comprehensive Network Management : Designing, configuring, and maintaining LAN (both wired and wireless), IP address schemes, DNS, WINS, and Ether-Channel / Bonding. This includes managing multi-site network operations, enterprise network architecture, routing (including VRFs), and interconnections between all OVAHCS locations.
Industrial Control Network (ICN) Specialization : Leading the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of the ICN. This involves managing ICN IP space, coordinating new system installs, providing SME (Subject Matter Expert) support on the 6550-process, and offering support for various ICN-connected systems like CCTV, AMAG, Metasys (JCI), and storage devices, including migrating JCI network equipment to VA OIT.
Troubleshooting and Support : Proactively monitoring and troubleshooting network hardware, software, IP telephones, and security systems to resolve operational issues and restore services promptly. This includes responding to ICN inquiries from diverse stakeholders.
Project Management & Documentation : Leading and managing assigned network projects, developing project plans for migrations, coordinating with other contractors for MAC (Moves, Adds, Changes) related to ICN equipment, and maintaining thorough technical documentation for ICN and telecommunication room configurations.
Security & Compliance : Maintaining a deep understanding of internet basics (DNS, Security, IP Routing, HTTP, VPN, Email Routing), ensuring secured access for wireless networks, and providing support for CCTV and Access Control Systems hardware and software.
