Job Overview – PICU RN Travel Nurse (Columbus, OH) Job Title : PICU Registered Nurse – Locum Tenens (Travel Nursing) Location : Columbus, OH 43205 Healthcare Setting : Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Float Pool Employment Type : Locum Tenens / Travel Contract Contract Duration : 13 weeks (October 6, 2025 – January 5, 2026) Shift : Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19 : 00 – 07 : 30) Hours per Week : 36 Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $2,250 - $2,310 Patient Population : Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents Floating : Required to NICU, CV PICU, Emergency Department (ED), stepdown, and MedSurg units PICU RN Qualifications Active Ohio or Compact Registered Nurse (RN) license Minimum 2 years of recent PICU nursing experience (must be reflected in work history) BLS (Basic Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certifications required Proficiency in EPIC EMR (Electronic Medical Record) charting (minimum 3 / 4 proficiency) Ability to provide 2 professional references (one must be a manager or supervisor) Willingness to float to various pediatric and critical care units as needed Travel nursing experience preferred; first-time travelers considered with 3 years and Level 1 Trauma experience Cannot have worked as a permanent employee for Nationwide Children’s Hospital in the past 2 years Must reside outside a 60-mile radius of Columbus, OH PICU RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU and other assigned hospital units Float to NICU, CV PICU, Emergency Department, stepdown, and MedSurg units as required Administer medications, blood products, and manage acute and chronic pediatric conditions Perform advanced nursing procedures : arterial line management, chest tube assistance, intubation, ventilator management, central / PICC line care, sedation, and more Monitor and interpret vital signs, arterial blood gases (ABGs), dysrhythmias, and hemodynamic parameters Maintain strict infection control standards and isolation precautions Accurately document all patient care activities using EPIC EMR Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes Why Choose Columbus, Ohio for Your Next Healthcare Job?
