We have an immediate need for Assembly Technician C 2nd shift (onsite)

What You Will Do

• Under direction of leader / supervisor, follow assembly drawings and / or specifications and computer information systems to prepare parts and build subassemblies, modules and accessories for new gas turbine engines where tooling and process methods are established.
• Perform similar duties assisting with engine test operations and performing component and accessory tests as assigned.
• Use overhaul and repair procedures and specifications to perform the mechanical work to overhaul engines, modules and related components.
• Obtain parts, check details for conformance to assembly requirements and fit and measure components to assure overall dimensions are within specified limits.
• Use mechanic's hand tools, holding fixtures, and specialized assembly equipment to build engine sections and perform installation of details and maintain equipment and tooling for assigned areas.
• Provide related support for test operations and assist with testing under direct supervision and specific test schedules.
• Perform similar duties to assist with co-producer, customer support or other similar programs, retrofit projects and to accommodate new engine programs and assist with changes in specifications.

May be required to train for, obtain and maintain licenses, operator permits and certifications within assigned area.

In compliance with the collective bargaining agreement, priority consideration is given to candidates who are INTERNAL (and recall) to the Pratt & Whitney IAM Bargaining Unit members of District Lodge 26 and Affiliated Locals 700 and 1746 (Connecticut Operations).

Additional Information

This position may require access to systems / tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship. Pratt & Whitney in East Hartford, CT is a FAA regulated facility and as such under the U.S. Departments of Transportation's Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with FAA Guidelines. Candidate will be subject to drug and alcohol testing per FAA's regulation 14 CFR part 120, as well as 49 CFR part 40. Role type is Onsite. Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, 401(k), and other programs depending on the business unit and collective-bargaining agreement.
