Position Summary

Steel Forgings Inc. (SFI) is a leading manufacturer of custom butt weld fittings that has been servicing the oil and gas industry for over 70 years. The Manufacturing Maintenance Technician will perform hands-on machinery maintenance and work with a team of maintenance technicians responsible for machine and equipment repairs, preventative maintenance, and facilities upkeep in a manufacturing plant located in the Shreveport / Bossier City, LA., area.

Duties and Responsibilities :

• Perform senior level mechanical and electrical repairs on production equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical failures effectively and efficiently.
• Read and understand mechanical drawings and hydraulic / electric schematics.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and blueprints.
• Perform root cause analysis on mechanical and electrical equipment failures.
• Ensure operation of all machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on production machines, motors, equipment, and tools.
• Coordinate preventative maintenance and repairs with plant supervisors.
• Communicate plant equipment repair / operational status to maintenance manager.
• Safely operate tools and equipment needed during the repair and servicing of equipment.
